THE FIRSTS KEEP COMING: Daison Pursley's First High Limit Victory is $30,000 Commonwealth Clash Title at Lernerville

Oklahoma's 20-Year-Old Rookie Becomes 17th Different Winner with Kubota High Limit Racing This Year

SARVER, PENN. (September 13, 2025) The first-time winners are coming left and right with Kubota High Limit Racing lately. After Ryan Timms got his at the Tuscarora 50 and Tanner Thorson claimed his on Friday at Lernerville, Daison Pursley made it back-to-back-to-back first-timers with his Commonwealth Clash title on Saturday

Starting from the pole position, Pursley led the opening circuit before the only caution of the race set up a restart that saw the Buch Motorsports No. 13 driver slip as far back as fourth. That was only the beginning of things as a four-car battle for the win broke out between himself, Rico Abreu, Ryan Smith, and Brad Sweet.

Abreu ripped to the lead with one epic move to go from fourth-to-first on Lap 2, and he proceeded to lead beyond halfway until lap traffic tightened things up. Sweet snuck by on Lap 20 and led the next five laps before Pursley came back to life and drove underneath Sweet to re-claim control on Lap 25.

From there, the 20-year-old native of Locust Grove, Oklahoma fought off the nerves, overcame lap traffic, and drove away to a 2.036-second margin of victory - making his first-career Kubota High Limit Racing win a big one with a $30,000 payday.

The Buch Motorsports No. 13 team - which now owns three total High Limit victories - made it 17 different winners to visit Whiskey Myers Victory Lane this season. It was an extra special $1,000 donation from the Angel Donor as Pursley got to send his money to Shriner's Childrens Hospital, which was a major player in Daison's recovery from a near life-altering injury when racing midgets.

Pursley became the first Rayce Rudeen Foundation Rookie of the Year to win a race and earn a Casm Safety Win Sticker.

For the second-straight night, Brad Sweet led laps but finished with runner-up honors. The Kasey Kahne Racing, NAPA Auto Parts No. 49 is still winless over the last two months and 22 races, but their $15,000 second-place finish brings them to within 25-points of re-claiming the championship lead with 10 races left.

Rounding out the podium was a Central Pennsylvanian combination with Kunkletown's Ryan Smith driving the Kreitz Racing No. 69K to a $10,000 reward in third-place. It's his fifth-straight top-10 with the series, the longest active streak of anyone.

Closing out the top-10 on Saturday was Rico Abreu, Justin Peck, Parker Price-Miller, Tanner Thorson, Logan Wagner, Anthony Macri, and Giovanni Scelzi.

FEELS LIKE THE FIRST TIME: Tanner Thorson Tops Thriller at Lernerville for First-Career Kubota High Limit Racing Victory

Thorson Charges from 12th-to-1st, Steals Win from Brad Sweet in Final Bout of Lap Traffic

SARVER, PENN. (September 12, 2025) It was never a matter of "if" but always "when" would Tanner Thorson break through for his first-career Kubota High Limit Racing win; and he answered that question in a resounding fashion on Friday night at Lernerville Speedway.

In his 84th attempt - after five oh-so-close runner-up results - the Minden, Nevada native finally enjoyed his first taste of Whiskey Meyers Victory Lane, and he did it with an outstanding drive from 12th-to-1st, capped with a late-race pass over six-time and defending national champion, Brad Sweet.

Coming from the outside of row six, Thorson quickly worked his Rod Gross Motorsports No. 88 into the top-five by the time the one and only caution of the race flew on Lap 8 of 30. He soon jumped into third by Lap 3, passed for second on Lap 20, and then ran down "The Big Cat" for the win in lap traffic.

Besides his split-field preliminary score at the Gold Cup Race of Champions last August, it was Thorson's first official victory on the national stage of winged sprint car racing - coming in his 107th A-Main between World of Outlaws and High Limit competition.

His score from 12th marks the second-farthest a winner has ever started in Kubota High Limit Racing - only topped by Corey Day's 15th-to-1st drive at Lake Ozark Speedway in June 2024.

It was a wildly popular win both in-person and online as Thorson became the 16th different team to earn a Casm Safety Win Sticker in 2025. His first victory also allowed him to send $1,000 from the High Limit Angel Donor to Dustin Poirier's "The Good Fight Foundation."

Hoping to end a two-month winless drought, but falling three laps shy, was Brad Sweet with a runner-up result after he led the opening 27 laps at Lernerville. Although the agony of defeat weighed on the NAPA Auto Parts No. 49 crew, it was still a profitable night for the Kasey Kahne Racing bunch as they closed to 33-points out of the all-important Kubota High Limit Racing Owner Championship lead.

Rounding out the podium with a last-lap pass was Daison Pursley in the Buch Motorsports No. 13. The leading contender for the Rayce Rudeen Foundation Rookie of the Year snookered Justin Peck on the final circuit to nail down his second podium over the last two weeks.

Those three - Thorson, Sweet & Pursley - are now locked-in for Heat Races in Saturday's $30,000-to-win, $2,000-to-start finale of the Commonwealth Clash. Their preliminary performances allow them to bypass Qualifying and start 4th in Heat Races as the fastest transfer car.

Closing out the top-10 on Friday night was Justin Peck, Sye Lynch, Ryan Smith, Rico Abreu, Giovanni Scelzi, Brent Marks, and Justin Sanders.

TEENAGERS AT THE TUSKY: Ryan Timms Dominates Port Royal Speedway for $58,000 Tuscarora 50 Title with High Limit

19-Year-Old Kid Joins Legends Kenny Weld & Doug Wolfgang as Only to Win Knoxville/Tusky in Same Year

PORT ROYAL, PENN. (September 6, 2025) There's a new powerhouse in the sport of Sprint Car Racing and it's a teenager from Oklahoma paired up with a car owner from South Dakota.

After dominating the Knoxville Nationals and winning the Huset's Speedway track championship in August, Ryan Timms started September by driving the Shane Liebig No. 10 to his latest career-defining accomplishment - winning the Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal Speedway.

The 19-year-old stud came from the eighth starting spot in Saturday's 50-lap finale and made his way to the third spot by Lap 17 when he joined an early fight for the lead with Justin Peck and Parker Price-Miller. That trio delivered a thrilling end to the opening half, almost going three-wide for the lead, before the halfway open red set the stage for the final 25 laps.

Acing the final restart with 25 to go, Timms whipped by Peck on the restart and saying he never looked back would be an understatement. The Oklahoma City, OK native drove away to a 7.265-second margin of victory - the largest in Kubota High Limit Racing history.

Within the last month, Timms has won his first Knoxville Nationals, first World of Outlaws race, first track championship, first Kubota High Limit Racing race, first Port Royal Speedway, and first Tuscarora 50 title.

At 19-years-old, Timms joins an elite list that only Kenny Weld (1973) and Doug Wolfgang (1984-85) share with him - being the only drivers in the history of Sprint Car Racing to win Knoxville and the Tusky in the same season.

Timms' $58,000 score was his 17th overall win of 2025 and pushes the teenager north of $400k in earnings this year alone.

For the second-straight week, Justin Peck and the Rudeen Racing No. 26 finished second-place after leading laps from the pole during a Kubota High Limit Racing major - last week at the Skagit Nationals, now Tuscarora 50. His runner-up run paid out $25,000 at Port Royal Speedway.

A 10th-to-3rd drive for Aaron Reutzel rounded out the podium with a $10,000 check and more importantly, it delivered the eight championship lead change of the year with Kubota High Limit Racing - as the Ridge & Sons Racing #87 overtook the Rico Abreu Racing #24 by 21-points.

Closing out the top-10 in the Tuscarora 50 was Parker Price-Miller, Troy Wagaman Jr, Logan Wagner, Danny Dietrich, Chase Dietz, Brent Marks, and Ryan Smith.

THE BOOT FROM CLUTE: Aaron Reutzel Overcomes Foot Injury to Win Night Before the 50

Saturday Night is All About the Iconic 58th Annual Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal Speedway

PORT ROYAL, PENN. (September 5, 2025) "The Boot from Clute," "The One Foot Wonder," call him whatever you want - but you certainly have to call Aaron Reutzel tough.

Still plagued by complications from a Fractured Right Foot he sustained in a July 18 crash at Eldora Speedway, Reutzel dug deep and put on a gutsy performance to win Friday's Night Before the 50 at Port Royal Speedway.

It was only his second race back behind the wheel of the Ridge & Sons Racing No. 87 after spending seven weeks sidelined and trying to recover at home in Iowa. The Clute, Texas native is still utilizing a scooter to get around, a modified race shoe loaded with carbon fiber to make him comfortable in the car, and crutches to stand in victory lane.

Friday wasn't even the first time in 2025 that Reutzel had to fight through the pain en route to Whiskey Myers Victory Lane. Back in March, after suffering a broken nose at Las Vegas, he won only two races later. How many races did it take to win during this return? Yep, two.

Putting the Power Plus No. 87 on the pole position alongside the Kreitz Racing No. 69K, it was surprisingly neither Reutzel nor Ryan Smith who jumped to the early lead in Friday's 25-lapper. Fourth-starter Parker Price-Miller, aboard the Indy Race Parts No. 71, nailed the initial start and slid his way to the lead by the exit of turn two.

A native of Kokomo, Indiana, PPM controlled the opening eight laps in pursuit of his first-career Kubota High Limit Racing win and his first-career win at Port Royal Speedway. Lap traffic was the biggest decider in the race as Reutzel capitalized on Lap 9 and took control of the point for good.

Going green-to-checkered, the race appeared most intense past halfway on Lap 13 when a four-way battle for the lead broke out in traffic with Reutzel, PPM, and Pennsylvanians Anthony Macri and Brent Marks all separated by less than a second.

Down the stretch, the closest anyone got to Reutzel was Macri at 0.872-seconds behind on Lap 18/25, but the No. 39M was never able to pull off a move to attack the No. 87 for the win. Holding on for the victory, it was Reutzel's eight overall victory of the 2025 season - five of those coming as official Kubota High Limit Racing wins, pushing his career total to six scores through 44 starts with the series.

In the bigger picture, Reutzel's run - following an epic west coast swing for super sub Justin Sanders - has the Ridge & Sons Racing team only four-points behind Rico Abreu Racing in the heated championship chase with 13 races left.

It was a podium chalked full of former Tuscarora 50 champions with Aaron Reutzel (2019), Anthony Macri (2022), and Brent Marks (2015) all owning one previous title at the Port Royal Speedway crown jewel. On Saturday, they'll all be a factor in chasing a second.

Closing out the opt-10 on The Night Before the 50 was Ryan Smith, Parker Price-Miller, Giovanni Scelzi, Rico Abreu, Brenham Crouch, Troy Wagaman Jr, and Brad Sweet.

HOME COOKIN': PA Posse Star Anthony Macri Dominates Opening Night of Port Royal's Tuscarora 50

Dillsburg Native Leads All 25 Laps for First High Limit Victory in Home State of Pennsylvania

PORT ROYAL, PENN. (September 4, 2025) After 14 tries, Anthony Macri finally became a Kubota High Limit Racing winner in his home state on Thursday - dominating the opening night of Port Royal Speedway's Tuscarora 50.

Ironically enough, the Dillsburg, Pennsylvania native had been a bit of a road warrior with the High Rollers - winning with the series at 34 Raceway in 2023 and Texas Motor Speedway in 2024. In fact, he joins Kyle Larson, Rico Abreu & Justin Peck as the only four drivers to earn a Kubota High Limit Racing win in each of the last three seasons.

Starting from the outside pole and immediately shooting to the lead, Macri survived a single restart, controlled all 25 laps, and crossed the finish line with a 4.184-second advantage - the third-largest margin of victory in series history.

At 26-years-old, Macri is now a 30-time winner at "The Speed Palace" - which ranks 13th all-time in Port Royal Speedway history. Thursday's $10,000 score also marked his 13th overall win of the season, four of those coming at the Juniata County Fairgrounds.

The 2022 Tuscarora 50 champion now has a guaranteed starting spot in Saturday's 50-lap main event. He'll start at worst in 19th as a preliminary winner, unless the #39M is already qualified through Heat Races of the finale.

Vincentown, New Jersey native Justin Whittall came from fifth-to-second, matching his career-best run with Kubota High Limit Racing. The current track championship leader at Port Royal Speedway, Whittall's #67 also ran runner-up during Tuscarora 50 weekend last year.

Rounding out the podium for the first time in his career on Thursday night was Brenham Crouch. The 19-year-old Texan enjoyed a standout showing aboard the CJB Motorsports #5 - earning the pole position and holding on for a third-place finish at a track that he says has been his kryptonite.

Closing out the top-10 in the Tusky opener was Danny Dietrich, Rico Abreu, Ryan Smith, Ashton Torgerson, Trey Starks, Sye Lynch, and Brad Sweet.

CLEAN SWEEP: Rico Abreu Leaves Washington Undefeated, Wins $126,000 Skagit Nationals in Closing Laps over Peck

Richest Payday of Abreu's Career Makes Him Kubota High Limit Racing Championship Leader for First Time

ALGER, WASH. (August 30, 2025) There aren't enough superlatives in the English dictionary to describe Rico Abreu's performance at Skagit Speedway this weekend.

The 33-year-old native of St. Helena, California leaves the 2025 Skagit Nationals without a blemish on his results - winning Thursday from seventh, winning Friday from seventh, and winning Saturday from third - for a complete weekend sweep worth $156,000 in Alger, Washington.

Each night, the #24 team had to work for it and Saturday's 40-lap finale was no different. In fact, his Lap 33 slider on Justin Peck was the latest he charged to the lead all weekend long.

Falling as far back as 4th in the early running, Abreu slowly but surely picked his way by Tyler Thompson and then Daison Pursley before chasing Peck's Rudeen Racing #26 into lap traffic down the final stretch.

Once he made the winning move into turn one, Rico never looked back and managed the back markers to perfection as he crossed the checkered flag with a 0.900-second margin of victory.

Rico's ninth trip to Whiskey Myers Victory Lane this year puts him at 16 overall wins, one of the highest marks in all of Sprint Car Racing. His 21st career win with Kubota High Limit Racing - in the 100th event for the series - marked the single-richest payday of his career at $126,000.

After leading the opening 32 laps, a disappointed but still-impressive Justin Peck held on for runner-up honors in the Rudeen Racing, Ford Performance, Rayce Rudeen Foundation #26. His reward for such a performance at the home track for his car owners Kevin & Monika Rudeen was a $40,000 second-place check.

Saving for his first-career Kubota High Limit Racing podium for Saturday night, Daison Pursley made his first one a big one. The Oklahoma pilot of the Buch Motorsports #13 worked by Tyler Thompson on Lap 38/40 and cashed a $26,000 payday for his third-place run.

Oregon's Tyler Thompson finished in fourth-place with $15,000 in earnings, while Justin Sanders took the Ridge & Sons Racing #87 to a fifth-place result worth $10,000.

Closing out the top-10 at the Skagit Nationals was Brent Marks, Tanner Thorson, Jason Solwold, Cory Eliason, and Colton Heath.

For the first time in his career, the Rico Abreu Racing #24 now leads the Kubota High Limit Racing championship. All the more impressive when you consider the fact that this team was 71-points back leaving Placerville, only four point races ago. The top-five remains hotly contested with five teams within 100 points for the title.

MR. SKAGIT: Rico Abreu Continues Skagit Speedway Domination, Wins $20,000 Prelim from 7th

Rico Abreu, Daison Pursley, Justin Peck & Tanner Thorson Locked-In for $126,000 Skagit Nationals on Saturday

ALGER, WASH. (August 29, 2025) There's one question circling the Skagit Speedway pit area after both preliminary nights of the Skagit Nationals - how in the world do we stop Rico Abreu?

For the second night in a row, the #24 machine roared from seventh to the lead and ran away with his fourth-straight win at the Alger, Washington track, his fifth score in his last seven tries at Kevin Rudeen's facility.

Shooting to the lead even quicker than he did last night, the St. Helena, California native was already running in a podium spot from the fourth row by Lap 10. He made his winning move on Lap 22 when a thick dose of lap traffic held up early leader Robbie Price and allowed Abreu to circle him on the outside of turns one and two.

From there, Abreu threw the keys on the counter and checked out - crossing the stripe with a 3.081-second advantage over the field. It was his 15th overall win of the 2025 season with eight of those coming in High Limit competition. He extends his mark as the winningest driver in series history, now sitting at 20 career wins.

Abreu easily locked-up high point man honors of the Skagit Nationals, guaranteeing himself a top-four starting spot in Saturday's Dash of the $126,000-to-win program. Securing a spot in the Dash as well was fellow High Rollers Daison Pursley in the Buch Motorsports #13, Justin Peck in the Rudeen Racing #26, and Tanner Thorson in the Rod Gross Motorsports #26.

Following Abreu to the line in Friday's Feature was Robbie Price with a bittersweet runner-up effort. The Canadian led the opening 21 laps of the race but traffic allowed Abreu to run off and force the #21P to settle for a still-impressive career-best P2 for $10,000.

It was a northwest boy rounding out the podium for the second night in a row as Harrisburg, Oregon's Tyler Thompson finished third-from-fifth in the Lemley #13L.

Jason Solwold, Brenham Crouch, Justin Peck, Brent Marks, Danny Sams III, Daison Pursley, and Tanner Thorson closed out the top-10.

Based off the Skagit Nationals event points, Cory Eliason, Jason Solwold, Justin Sanders, and Tyler Thompson are slated to start on the pole of Saturday's Qualifiers. They're set to be joined by Brenham Crouch, Max Mittry, Brent Marks, and Danny Sams III on the outside of the front row. The winner of those Qualifiers will join the lock-in drivers in the Dash.

A FIRST FOR EVERYTHING: Brent Marks is a West Coast Winner, Topping The Douglas County Dirtrack

Thorson Lands Fourth Runner-Up of Year and Day Charges to Podium from 18th Behind Brent Marks

ROSEBURG, ORE. (August 25, 2025) Through three years on the World of Outlaws tour from 2017-19 and two seasons with Kubota High Limit Racing in 2024-25, Brent Marks of Myerstown, Pennsylvania has seen his fair share of racing on the west coast; and his thoughts on it were no secret.

That was until 2025 rolled around and something flipped for the Murray-Marks Motorsports #19 team, almost as if it were a light switch. To start the year, they rattled off a top-10 at Las Vegas, a podium in Bakersfield, a top-five in Perris, and more top-10s in Arizona. That set the tone for a summer surge out west.

A preliminary podium and lock-in performance at the Gold Cup Race of Champions sent Brent and his boys trucking to the Pacific Northwest with lots of confidence, and it all finally paid off on Monday night at The Douglas County Dirtrack in Roseburg, Oregon.

A third-place effort in Capitol Renegade Qualifying led to a BR Motorsports Heat 3 transfer and subsequent FK Rod Ends Dash win. The #19 lost the lead on the initial start of the 35-lap Feature and trailed Justin Sanders for the opening six circuits.

An early dose of lap traffic allowed Marks to pounce on Sanders' #87 and take command of the lead on Lap 7. From there, the east coast ace hammered the west coast curb and survived a pair of restarts and then more lap traffic to win in the Western United States for the first time in his life.

The $12,000 score in the Showdown on the River presented by Seven Feathers Casino marked the third trip to Whiskey Myers Victory Lane this year for Brent Marks and his sixth-career win with Kubota High Limit Racing. It snapped a 15-race dry spell for the team, their first win since Port Royal Speedway in May.

Tanner Thorson continues to knock, beat, and pound on the door of his first-career Kubota High Limit Racing victory - driving from fifth-to-second, even with wing issues on Monday night. It's his fourth runner-up of the year with the series and moves the Rod Gross Motorsports #88 up to sixth in the championship standings.

After qualifying dead last (27th of 27 cars), Corey Day did what Corey Day does and put on a thrilling charge in the 35-lap Feature. The reigning Gold Cup Race of Champions winner drove the Jason Meyers Racing #14 all the way from 18th-to-3rd to round out the podium at Douglas County.

Closing the top-five was two championship contenders with Giovanni Scelzi and the Clauson-Marshall Racing #7BC in fourth, followed by Brad Sweet and the Kasey Kahne Racing #49 in fifth.

Rounding out the top-10 on Monday was James McFadden, Rico Abreu, Justin Sanders, Cory Eliason, and Daison Pursley.
